National Asthma and Allergy Awareness Month: Supporting Respiratory Health

This month is National Asthma and Allergy Awareness Month.

According to the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America (AAFA). Nearly 28 million people in the United States have asthma. This equals about 8% of the total population.

Asthma is a long-term disease that makes breathing difficult. Inflammation in the lungs can cause the airways to narrow, tighten, and become clogged. Common symptoms of asthma include coughing, wheezing, shortness of breath, and chest tightness or pain.
